Introduction

Volleyball England is the governing body for volleyball in England.  The local organization responsible for volleyball is the Wiltshire Volleyball Association or WVA for short.  The WVA is affiliated to Volleyball England through the regional body – the South West Volleyball Association (SWVA).  The WVA caters for male and female players of all ages and abilities. 

Under 18’s and Juniors

Junior players are catered for with regular competitions being played - all clubs with players under age 18 have a Club Welfare Officer.  Adults working regularly with junior players will have had DBS checks carried out (Disclosure and Barring Service - formally CRB).    

Coaching and Refereeing

All Wiltshire volleyball clubs have qualified coaches, and clubs also have qualified referees and officials to ensure fair play – in fact some of these officiated at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.

Beach and Outdoor Volleyball

We are actively developing Beach and Outdoor Volleyball in Wiltshire, and some players can be seen regularly throughout the summer at the purpose built ‘beach court’ at Coate Water Park (next to the ‘Crazy Golf’) and at other parks around Wiltshire.

Clubs

There are 8 affiliated clubs participating in Wiltshire Volleyball Leagues and Competitions; some of these clubs have two or more teams.  There is also a Ladies & Juniors League which plays on a monthly basis.  All standards are catered for from beginner to National League.  We aim to develop all players to help them realise their potential.  Established Volleyball clubs in Wiltshire are: -
