Welcome to another season of WVA Ladies and Juniors league volleyball! As you can see I've been to the Olympics and am now looking forward to the upcoming Volleyball season.

This seasons dates have been organised as follows. Due to a lot of volleyball taking place this year (juniors, SW and NVL men and ladies) there isn't much scope to move these dates. Please make every effort to enter a team into all of them if you can.

Congratulations to Devizes A for winning gold medals and to WMB for winning silver. It was a great game and I was very impressed with the standard of play, as were other coaches who were there. Well played everyone!

Junior information

Just a reminder that if your club brings juniors (players under the age of 18) to any of the fixtures then a Child Welfare Officer (CWO) from your club must be present with them. The CWO must be CRB checked through Volleyball England). Also CWO's should hold the contact details for all the juniors attending any fixtures should any incident occur. These guidelines are set by Volleyball England to protect juniors and make sure they are in a safe environment. Thanks for your co-operation with this it is very much appreciated.

Rules

Normal EVA rules apply with the following:

 

  1. The competition is open to all female and junior boys (under 16 - Year 11 school year) provided they are all registered with WVA teams

 

  1. Teams participating MUST belong to a registered club of WVA

 

  1. All matches will be played on a normal round robin basis where possible.

 

  1. Normal substitution and time outs are allowed

 

  1. Points will be awarded as follows:
    1. Two points for each complete set won
    2. One point awarded for a partial set lead

 

  1. All officiating teams must provide the minimum:
    1. 1st referee
    2. 2nd referee
    3. 1 x scorer
    4. 2 x line judges

  1. Signed results sheets must be handed in by the winning team captain to the organisers on the day.

 

Enjoy the competition and I’m sure you will all enter into the spirit of the game. The referee’s decision is final so please respect it!

 

Cups and medals for winners and Runners up will be presented on completion of all league fixtures.
