How to get the Forums to notify you of new messages

To get an email notification when there is a new message in a forum you must: 1 - be logged in on the web site. 2 - go to each forum you are interested in 3 - On the forum front page (where it lists the messages in that forum) there is a tick box labelled 'Email me when XXX forum has a new thread.'. Tick that box in each forum where you would like a notification. Questions Q - I can't find the tick box. A - Scroll down. It's near the bottom of the page on the right. Q - I'm looking in the right place - it's really not there. A - Are you logged in to the web site? If you are not logged in the system has no idea who it should send email to and does not display the tick box. Q - I checked the box a while ago. I can see new messages since I ticked the box, I didn't get email. A - Have you changed your email address since you registered on the web site? To update your personal details click on your display name (In the top right hand corner after you login). It's also possible that the email is still on its way to your inbox. If your email system does junk mail filtering then you should check that the email from the web site didn't get sent there by mistake. It's also possible, but quite rare, for emails to get lost, email is not a guaranteed delivery system. If you are sure that you are not getting *any* emails then ask me. Q - I am getting emails from the site. Why do they come from dynamisys.co.uk? A - Because before the site can send email as wva.org my ISP needs to believe that I am not sending bucket loads of spam. This is a process that requires finding, moving and posting bits of paper. It is under way.

Ladies and Gents We will again be holding our outdoor tournament on the first weekend in July down in sunny Salisbury. For those that haven't been before (shame on you!! lol) it really is awesome, just ask the Wootton Basset team that came last year and I think won the mens division (sorry guys i've slept since then and can't quite remember that far back!!). End of Season Tournament 17th May 2009

All,

I want to book up the EOS Tournament for 17th May 2009---- Are there any compelling reasons why this shouldnt be on this date???

(By this time the final of the DK Cup will have been played.)

I suggest that we use the end of this tournament to present the trophies for the year.

Does anyone have a list of all the trophies and who has currently got them?

Then there is the issue of player of the year / Coach of the year etc.

Can some-one name all the categories ----- then I guess we will all need to vote????? ------ How has this been done in previous years ???

Is there anyone who can step up and organise this????

I also suggest that we might think about going out afterwards for a drink and a MEAL ------- AGAIN JUST A SUGGESTION

What does everyone think?

Salisbury Volleyball Tournament 2009

Salisbury is again hosting a two day tournament to be held at the Livestock Market, Netherhampton, Salisbury, a new venue from last year’s event, taking into consideration the feedback from teams entering in 2008s event. The Livestock Market offers a venue that is clean, spacious and has top quality showers.

We have arranged entertainment for Saturday evening until 1am and two full days of volleyball fun for people of all abilities.

Date: 4-5 July 2009

Format: 6V6 Mixed*, Mens and Ladies

* Minimum of 3 ladies on court at all times

No of courts: 14 at the moment, but lots of spare space to expand if numbers require.

Level: Regional Experienced teams and Novice Teams. Teams of a higher ability are also welcome.

Entry Fees:

£75 for teams affiliated to EVA (please provide affiliation number)

£85 for non-affiliated teams

£5 per team for disco if paid in advance

£1 per person for disco if paid on the weekend

Closing Date: 31^st MAY 2009

Rules: Normal rules apply with scoring to 25 over 2 or 3 sets depending on pools and timings (subject to change)

Facilities:

Camping available Friday 3^rd July 09 and Saturday 4^thJuly 09 including room for caravans

Clean toilets and showers (showers will be organised on a rota system)

Onsite parking

Large clubhouse and fully stocked bar

Fresh food to order throughout the weekend

Snacks available through the day

Family friendly camping area

First Aid

Application forms are being sent out to teams already on the distribution list. Forms are also available from Salisbury Website (Outdoor Tournament Page) for download.

We’re a young tournament and slowly getting things right, the more entries we can get the better the tournament will become.

I'm pretty unsure of some of the factual captions. So if the pic has your name, or team name; wrong, or incomplete; or I awarded you the wrong award - please let me know! If a picture shows you taller/shorter, fatter/slimmer, more/less gorgeous than you are in reality, you can let me know too. It's harder for me to fix that!

I have heard from a few teams so far for the Pre Season Tournament but not all. I am aware that not all clubs have started back training yet, however I need to have confirmation of numbers.

There is also a planned presentation of trophies from last season after the tournament.

So please get your entries in.

I would appreciate a response by Tuesday evening of next week --- (16^th Sept)

We need a logo

Does the WVA have a logo? If not is there anyone with graphic skills out there who can create one? Ask your firends! The logo at the top is the one for the software I use to run the web site so it's not that appropriate, but I don;t have anything else at the moment.

Salisbury VC New Training Venue Opening

Guys Most will now know we've moved to the Godolphin School Sports Hall for our usual Thursday night training sessions. Our first last week went very well. The coach really put the soft flooring into good use (I still have the bruises to prove it - Thanks John!!!!). We'll we're having an official opening on 25th Sept. We've invited a few local personalities, like the Mayor, the Press. We're going to make it into a small celebration. If anybody would like to come along, please let me know, either on here or direct ('mailto:lynsayscratchley205@msn.com'>lynsayscratchley205@msn.com) so that I can make sure there is enough food!! It would be nice to see a couple from each club if possible. Here's to the new season :o)
